Production of The Union (2024)
In May 2020, Netflix acquired the pitch for Our Man from Jersey (later retitled The Union), with Mark Wahlberg set to star. Joe Barton and David Guggenheim wrote the screenplay, based on a story by Stephen Levinson. By March 2021, Halle Berry joined the cast as Roxanne Hall, marking her collaboration with Wahlberg. In May 2022, the film expanded its cast with J.K. Simmons, Jackie Earle Haley, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Jessica De Gouw, and Alice Lee.
Filming began in March 2022, with locations in London, New Jersey, and Piran, Slovenia. The production encountered issues in May 2022 due to noise and air pollution during shoots in Fitzrovia. In September 2022, the team filmed scenes in Trieste, Italy, and also used BT Tower in the UK. The film’s global setting contributed to its action-packed espionage narrative.
